The Resources needed to participate in each day for the educators have been separated into different categories:
Prior to Day 1 Resources:
- Informational Letter - This introductory letter is intended for student's parents ahead of their participation in the Windmill Project.
- Windmill Project Timeline - This is a document version fo the timeline that appears on the website.
- Windmill Timeline Graphic - This gives a visual representation of the 3 day windmill project timeline.
- Standards - These are the Ohio standards for the different concepts that will be covered in this project.
- Intro to The Engineering Design Process - They will be introduced to the Engineering Design Process through slides.
- Engineering Design Process Worksheet - They will then do a worksheet about the Engineering Design Process. Along with being introduced to 3D printing.
- 3D print with no printer. - They will do an activity with sand and glue to learn about 3D printing with out a printer.
- Engineering Jobs - The lesson will be covering what part they were working on and what they did that relates to an engineer's job and what they do.
On Day 1
Day 1 will be a scheduled day and the communication will be through UDRI.
- MacGyver lesson plan -They will go through a lesson plan, in which they will learn about the project.
- Materials -The list of Materials For the MacGyver Challenge.
Day 2
- Read Aloud - This is the read aloud for the Boy Who Harnessed The Wind.
- "The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind." - Worksheet about "The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind."
- TinkerCAD Resource For Educators - This document walks educators through how to create a class within TinkerCAD and how to utilize TinkerCAD when working on 3D designing with the Students.
- Lego Lesson - This TinkerCAD slide will introduce the students to tinkerCAD's overview and tools
- Nameplate Lesson - This TinkerCAD slide will walk through the process of creating a nameplate.
- Windmill Blade slides - They will go through slides about the windmill project and how they will make the blades for the windmill.
